i was at my childhood home in a wyomig ( i currently live in California)with my kids. My son carson (20) was getting ready to leave with a man from our community who was driving my older brothers volkswagon beetle that he drove in high school. my son was walking around the garage getting ready to get in the car and he was stumbling so i asked if he was drunk or stoned and he didn't answer the first time i asked (typical) and finally he said no it was a bad cold. i asked if i could give him anything for it and he said he needed something strong like brussle sprouts or broccoli. I had not gotten dressed yet so i was not ready to go to town in order to get something and i knew we didn't have that in the house. i don't remember asking or knowing where they all were about to go in the car but i gave them money to get brussle spouts. I noticed his face looked softer and a little prettier than usual i pulled some money out that someone had given me as payment earlier in the morning but i cant remember that part of the dream, just that it was a bunch of bills that i believed to be about $25-$27. carson got into the back seat of the car where there was another kid i didn't recognize but the strange thing was that the seat was probably only 8'-10" deep. i thought how could their legs even fit in that tiny seat. then my little brother suddenly came out of the house and said he would go with them and he jumped into the back seat as well. now there were three people in that tiny seat another person i didn't recognize in the front passenger seat and the gentleman i did know. they started to back out of our long driveway and i started counting out the money to give them and wanted to no give them too much. i was jogging along the side of the car counting the bills and at first it was all dollar bills with a $5 then i thought that isn't enough and flipped the stack over and started counting out again and then it turned into a bunch of ones and a $20 and i thought that was strange and then again flipped the stack over and it was a $50 and $20 a $5 a $2 and a bunch of ones. I gave him the $20 and the $5 and they pulled away. as i started walking back to the house i notice a folded stack of $100 bills on the side of the driveway and remembered I had sold a doll of my youngest daughter madison's the day before and that was the money from that and it must have fallen out of my wallet the day before but luckily was still there. i picked it up and gave it to my daughter and that was about when i woke up
This dream seems to be rich with symbolism and can be explored on various levels, including personal, emotional, and developmental themes.
Childhood Home: The dream begins in your childhood home in Wyoming, a place representative of your early memories, security, and past experiences. Returning to such a setting often indicates a longing for comfort, nostalgia, or a need to reconnect with your roots, especially given that you now live in California. It could also suggest that you are reflecting on your upbringing or navigating current challenges in your life.
Your Son Carson (20): Dreaming of your son at this age may bring particular emphasis on transitional phases—both his and yours. At 20, Carson is likely moving into deeper adulthood, representing independence and responsibility. His struggle with a “bad cold” could symbolize concerns for his well-being and your protective instincts as a parent.
The Volkswagen Beetle: This vehicle represents nostalgia and the past, likely tied to your brother’s fond memories from high school. The choice of this car may point toward themes of freedom, journeys, and embarking on new adventures. The Beetle itself, known for its unique design and sturdiness, might also suggest a blend of playfulness and reliability in your son’s life stages.
Brussels Sprouts or Broccoli: Your son’s request for something “strong” like Brussels sprouts or broccoli signifies a need for sustenance, health, and growth—both physically and emotionally. This could imply your desire to provide him with the tools or support he needs during a challenging phase.
Money Exchange: The act of giving money resonates with themes of support, trust, and generosity. The fluctuating denominations you counted also highlights feelings of uncertainty regarding what you can provide for him, as well as a struggle with self-worth and perceived value. This could reflect anxiety about being a provider and whether you feel you are giving enough.
Car Dynamics and Space: The crowded and small back seat signifies feelings of constraints or limitations—possibly suggesting that your son’s journey into adulthood feels cramped or that his lifestyle may be becoming crowded with pressures. The fact that there are multiple people in the back seat suggests a sense of community or the influence of peers in his life choices, even if they might not be optimal.
Counting Money: Your action of jogging alongside the car as you are counting money symbolizes the constant effort you put into nurturing and supporting your children. The anxiety of whether the amount is sufficient reflects typical concerns around parental adequacy and the pressures of providing for your family amidst current life circumstances.
Finding the $100 Bills: The discovery of the $100 bills at the end of the dream can indicate a rewarding realization—perhaps you’ve been more resourceful and able than you might have believed. It symbolizes unexpected gains and the idea that while you might be concerned about providing for others, you also have assets and support that you may overlook.
This dream highlights your deep connection to your family and your concerns for your children as they grow. It encapsulates both nostalgia for your past and your aspirations for your son’s future while also showing your struggle with feelings of adequacy. The culmination of the dream in a moment of unexpected wealth suggests a resolution of fears and a reminder that you are able to provide for your family, even when the situation feels challenging.
